March 24, 2016 – Gnural Net, Inc., developer of web video calling solutions for video and event producers, today announced its adoption of NewTek’s Network Device Interface (NDI™) standard for IP production workflows for its LiveToAir™ product line – family of multi-guest video calling products. With NDI enabled, LiveToAir will be recognizable as a source by other NDI-enabled devices and systems connected to a standard Ethernet local area network, delivering multiple guest feeds to systems like TriCaster Advanced Edition without the need of any physical ports.
With a single LiveToAir system, up to four remote guests can be easily integrated into any professional video production environment - right from their browser - with two-way links that let everyone interact and engage as if they were together in one place. NDI simplifies the connectivity needed to make this happen, replacing a bundle of SDI cables with a single network connection. From streamlined setup and configurations to more flexible and efficient workflow designs, the benefits that NDI brings to LiveToAir users are compelling.
This new standard for live production IP workflow is bi-directional and backwards compatible with a large number of products from top manufacturers already utilizing NewTek’s open technology allowing IP connectivity. By adopting NDI, Gnural Net’s LiveToAir family will be part of the industry’s largest ecosystem of IP-enabled products - the NewTek Developer Network.
“For us, NDI is more than just a core component of our LiveToAir product family – it is a gateway technology for a broad range of new capabilities and services that we look forward to delivering in the future,’ said John Mahoney, CEO of Gnural Net. “The capabilities offered by NDI are transformational – letting us extend the value that our products offer while expanding the ways our clients can integrate them into their workflows. NDI is a boon for everyone in the video industry.”
“In the same way the Internet transformed the way we now can access information, the adoption of IP workflows will have an equally profound impact on the way video is produced and the way studios are built,” said Michael Kornet, executive vice president of Business Development for NewTek. “Gnural Net has developed a range of solutions that are respected both at NewTek and within the industry. Through their enthusiastic embrace of NDI, Gnural Net’s LiveToAir products will further cement NDI’s position as the industry’s most widely adopted IP standard – delivering today on the promise of simpler and more efficient video production environments.”
NDI is now available as a royalty free software developer kit (SDK) for any company looking to establish IP workflows within their organization, or in production tools and systems they manufacture.
