Welcome back to Practical Production - our video web series focused on real world production techniques for TriCaster-based studios. In Take 02 of Practical Production, we are going to look at using macros and automation to streamline a production workflow.
This tutorial focuses on the requirements of a fictitious baseball-themed call in game show named "Around The Bases". It involves managing audio elements, dynamically swapping livesets, and controlling the game countdown timer.
While there's a lot more involved in a production like this, we wanted to cover some of the basic elements behind working with macros and using automation triggers - tools that are critical to any complex production.
We'll be following this up with a series of short clips on how to handle some of the things we didn't get to show in this video - like populating caller details in the studio reference monitor and keeping score by highlighting the bases on the game board. These are definitely interesting 'mini-tutorials' you don't want to miss, so subscribe to our blog and we'll let you know as soon as they are up.
As we've mentioned before, let us know if there are any specific topics you'd like us to cover here, or if there is something you think we can be doing better that would make the Practical Production series more useful to you.
We had such a great response to our initial show that we now have a dedicated email for your feedback - practicalproduction@gnural.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
